The latest version of ShellControlBoxTM privileged activitymonitoring appliance takes real-time prevention to the next level and protects existing security investments by integrating with all popular password management solutions
NewYork– October 3, 2013– Balabit IT Security, a global leader in the development of privileged activity monitoring, trusted logging and proxy-based gateway technologies announced a new version of its Shell Control BoxTM (SCB) activity monitoring appliance. The latest version of Shell Control Box makes forensics investigations easier, faster and more cost effective by extending the list of auditable protocols – SSH, RDP, Citrix ICA, VNC, Telnet – with HTTP/HTTPS. HTTP, originally created for content transport, has been becoming increasingly popular as a GUI protocol for various tools such as management network devices, business applications and SaaS/virtual infrastructures. Today, Balabit has made a pioneering step to audit all web application access.
Complying with data security regulations becomes smoother by extending real-time user activity monitoring to windows environments by controlling the applications that users run. To protect customers’ existing network investments, the new SCB version is able to authenticate and control network operators working with shared accounts in – still widely adopted – legacy network environments. SCB 3 F5 is an independent and transparent device that does not require any change to the network or privileged users’ everyday work, and can now be integrated with all popular password management system.
“The exploding growth of enterprise cloud computing, coupled with compliance to data governance initiatives calls for organizations to focus more on monitoring web-based user activities. As logs are not or rarely available when using SaaS-based CRMs, office applications and more, it is extremely complicated to know what is happening in cloud-based business applications. According to TheInfoPro Wave 5 Cloud Computing Study, security is still the biggest pain point and roadblock to cloud computing adoption” said, Zoltán Györkő, CEO of Balabit IT Security. “The latest version of our Shell Control Box product aims to answer the question of “who did what” in web-based applications. HTTP and HTTPS connections that are used to access cloud-based software services and to administer network devices and websites now can be audited on a user-friendly way. With this new development direction, we aim to satisfy the IT security needs of our customers in a world where company networks exist only virtually after they outsourced their hardware and software to cloud service providers.”
