The latest version of the syslog-ng Premium Edition adds support for the popular NoSQL database MongoDB. With a schema-free, document-oriented architecture, MongoDB is commonly used as the backend database for applications and provides a flexible means of storing unstructured log messages.
Key new features of syslog-ng Store Box 3F2
The API, with a REST-based architecture, allows users to access and query the log messages stored on SSB from remote applications. Large organizations typically need to analyze log data with a variety of applications for different purposes. The new API enables organizations to seamlessly integrate SSB with 3rd party applications.
Balabit completely re-designed the user interface to be more intuitive and responsive for searching logs making monitoring IT environments and troubleshooting operational and security issues much easier. The improved design offers users more flexibility in defining queries, drilling-down through results and creating reports.
