The scope of the training

The goal of this training is to give IT experts the knowledge and skills needed to configure, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot syslog-ng Premium Edition servers and clients.

Who should attend the training?

To all security and server administrators, whose task is to handle and maintain syslog-ng servers. At the end of the training attendees will be able to install, configure, maintain syslog-ng, find and correct errors, and submit error reports to the syslog-ng support centers.

Training description

The training gives the most important knowledge required for syslog-ng maintenance through real life examples. On the training users will learn the architecture of syslog-ng, and practice syslog-ng administration and configuration, including storage and transport methods, as well as the message conversion and content manipulation functions of syslog-ng. At the end of the training attendees will:

  • Know how syslog-ng and logging infrastructures work
  • Be able to configure syslog-ng
  • Be able to check log sources, destinations an log paths
  • Be skilled in finding configuration errors

The training starts at 9:00 and lasts until 17:00 every day, lunch included.
