Features and Benefits
New features in 3 F3
Web services based API for remote SCB access and integration
SCB collects and stores a massive amount of information about remote working sessions. These information may include successful/failed logins, command executions, file transfers, activity reports, audit trails, etc. The web services based interface (RPC-API) makes these data available for third-party applications, such as system monitoring tools, ticketing systems, log analysis and SIEM applications. The API allows you to access, query, and manage SCB remotely from these applications or from other custom developments. This improved integration capability makes more intelligent data analysis possible, meeting the increased information needs of third-party IT or security management systems.
With this new SOAP-based feature, SCB can better fit clients' existing IT and security ecosystem. Accessing SCB with the web services based API offers several advantages:
- Integration into custom applications and environments
- Flexible, dynamic search queries and management from external applications.
TLS support for Telnet, TN3270 and VNC
SCB 3 F3 allows you to control and audit Telnet, TN3270 and VNC connections that are encrypted using TLS or SSL just like their unencrypted versions.
VNC and Telnet protocols are typically used to remotely access and configure workstations, legacy Unix-systems, mainframes or network devices. SCB is now able to control and audit encrypted communication between a Telnet/TN3270/VNC client and these remote hosts. Additionally, it can even encrypt the insecure communication between the parties if needed for data-security reasons. It even supports encrypted mainframe communication in such a way that mainframe configuration changes are not necessary.
Support for Citrix XenDesktop
SCB 3 F3 allows you to control and audit connections accessing XenDesktop 5.0 and 5.5 running on Windows 2008 R2. By providing this feature, SCB has become the first client- and server independent solution, which can transparently control and audit XenDesktop deployments.
XenDesktop is Citrix System's virtual desktop infrastructure. It is typically used in thin-client environments, where multiple users access a unified desktop environment on a remote central server. This approach is typical at call/contact centers of large service providers, such as banks, insurers, telecom operators and utilities. However, countless business applications running on these terminal servers are not capable of sufficient logging. Consequently, controlling the activities of several hundreds or thousands of thin-client users is challenging. SCB can now solve this problem by reliably controlling, monitoring and auditing every action of users working in a XenDesktop (or XenApp) environment.
