History

• 1996 - BalaBit deposit company is founded.
• 1998 - BalaBit develops syslog-ng log file analyzing software replacing UNIX syslogd. Syslog-ng is released as open source software.
• 1999 - Syslog-ng gets into Debian Linux distribution.
• 2000 - BalaBit LTD is founded with changes of ownership structure.
• 2000 - Our company develops a proxy firewall solution with unique properties, like transparency, full application level (L7) protocol analysis, flexible decision engine. The new firewall is called Zorp. Zorp is released as open source software.
• 2001 - The first commercial branch of Zorp (Professional), version 1.4 released.
• 2002 - Zorp GPL version gets into Debian GNU/Linux distribution.
• 2002 - Zorp 2 version with graphical management system is introduced.
• 2003 - Zorp is introduced to international market at CeBIT. Zorp attained the "Most Innovative Business Solution" title at IT2003 Conference and Exhibition in Hungary.
• 2004 - IDC announces that BalaBit IT Security has supplied over 27 percent of the Hungarian market of the enterprise firewalls.
• 2005 - Zorp is successfully certified by ICSA Labs.
• 2006 - BalaBit IT Security and SUN Microsystems announce BalaBit Shell Control Box.
• 2007 - BalaBit announces syslog-ng Premium Edition.
